You've heard it been said.
Sugar feeds cancer.
It sounds plausible, right? Cancer cells love sugar! It loves it so much that it even steals it from the healthy cells....who also love sugar.
Logic (and many nutritionists) would say that if sugar feeds cancer then stop all sugar! However simply "removing sugar from your diet" gets a little sticky around the time that you go back to high school biology and remember that:
ALL FOOD BREAKS DOWN TO GLUCOSE!
(which is sugar)
Yes, even fats and proteins very common to the no-sugar diets will eventually break down into (half) fatty acids for the cell walls and (half) glucose for the cells.
So does glucose have a purpose?!
Aside from being your body's main source of energy, ahem, it's job is to open your cell's wall and deliver the nutrients from the food.
It's an essential ingredient required in the production of all cells. And cell production is the primary purpose for the entire body. Without glucose, our systems go into fight or flight and start malfunctioning, ie, brain cells and blood cells that rely heavily on glucose for energy will quickly die.
This condition is actually called Ketosis and people rave about it for weight loss and cancer dieting. Our body's backup systems are intelligent enough to know how to burn fat to survive in an emergency, but this is only ok in short term situations. Long term, ketosis is a nothing more than another stress condition that renders stress on the body and taxes its organs heavily in an effort to survive, not thrive. I could go on for a while about this, but I'll get back to the point...
Our bodies thrive on sugars!
Just not on the processed ones.
There's a REASON sugar tastes so good. Nature wanted us to eat a lot of it. Which is why nature put so much of it in the best medicines of its kingdom!
Fruit contains the highest amount of glucose and also the highest amount of nutrients. The two go hand in hand!
The glucose opens the cells and allows nutrients to enter. A spoonful of sugar really will make the medicine go down.
Now the problem with sugar is when it is the wrong kind! (You knew that was coming, right?) The sugar that has already been processed to death and contains zero nutrition, is the wrong kind of sugar.
Sugars NOT attached to nutrients will create a huge deficiency in your cell production. Many cancer researchers, myself included, believe that deficiency is what leads to cancer cell formation because you can't make healthy cells without healthy cell ingredients, like the nutrients themselves. Delivering huge doses of candy and processed simple carbs will most definitely lead to these deficiency conditions and cells will be made "de-fficiently".
Sugar is a problem when it has been boiled down like cocaine.
Throwing out the fruit along with these sugars is like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
The best medicines for us have the high amounts of sugar! Think mango, pineapple, apricot, cherries, grapes, dates, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!
High glucose content + high nutrient content = A WIN!
So what does this mean?
It means you need to get rid of all sugar in a package and replace it with fruit!
fresh pressed juices
and whole fruits.
